The affidavit of repossession is the official document in which the written declaration of repossessing a vehicle is actually made under oath or sworn before somebody legally authorized to administer oath.

You should NEVER use the recall word COME

You may not believe this but…
You should NEVER use the recall word (”COME”, or whatever word you choose) to call your dog to discipline him, correct him, tell him what a bad dog he is, or for any negative reason. Bad deeds MUST be caught IN THE ACT in order to correct. If you still need your dog by you for a negative reason, give him a firm SIT command and go get him.

For example:
Imagine this, you see your dog “Major” outside digging up your newly planted daisies. You first quietly say “Major, Come here”. Major, doesn’t respond. You then yell “MAJOR - COME HERE!”. Major still doesn’t come, so you go over and grab him by the collar and yell “I told you to Come Here!” and give him a smack.

Major, being a smart dog, makes a mental note “Come Here” means “You’re in trouble and about to get punished”.

Next time when he is outside, and you want him to come inside for dinner you go out and say to him “Come here”, he responds by running away. “Dumb dog” you think and go and grab him and drag him inside so he’ll eat his food. Then you say sternly “How come you don’t ever COME when I call you?!” Major makes another mental note (Hmmm: seems to me my memory of “COME HERE” is still accurate – don’t want to respond to that – after all, “COME HERE” means I am in BIG TROUBLE!)

Remember, dogs know ONLY “dog language” when they come to live with us. WE must teach them our language. In the above examples, Major did not learn OUR translation for the word “COME”. He learned “COME” meant “angry owner – I’m in trouble now. Better scram out of here!” We want Major to learn that “COME” means “Get your buns to me in the fastest way possible – NO EXCEPTIONS!” Major needs to understand that COME means GOOD stuff – ALWAYS!

Potty Training

Welcome eveyone. This is my first blog so please bare with me. i just wanted to share some of our Potty Training with anyone interested.

Potty Training

One of the most common problems people experience is potty training. It is not as easy with most dogs as some people think. There are a few steps to potty training. Most people want their dog to tell them when it is time to go out. The puppy doesn’t know unless you tell them when it is time to go out.

Step one

Using a crate. Yes, use a crate, a plastic vary kennel. Not a wire cage. The very kennel will help keep your dog feeling safe and secure. The crate should be used as a tool, not a punishment. The crate should be only big enough for your dog to walk in, turn around, and lay down comfortably. Sometimes a divider is necessary. Location is important, your puppy or dog may cry or bark. This way you don’t lose any sleep at night from crying or barking. Any time you can not baby sit your dog or you are not home, they should be in a crate. This will keep your dog safe from getting into things they shouldn’t, and prevents them from learning bad habits. This also helps them learn how to wait to go out to potty.

Step two

Leash and collar. You need to put a leash and collar on your puppy, take them out to the designated area, and tell them to go potty. When the duty is done, you then praise them for going potty. (good go potty) or what ever word you choose to use. Repetition and consistency is most important.

Step three

Food and water schedule. It is very important to have your dog or puppy on a food and water schedule. If you feed and water a dog at the same time, they should have to go to the bathroom at the same time every day. Now every dog is different, there is no set time for every dog. So you need to watch the clock. Here is one example.

You have to leave the house at 8am. So you would get up at 6am, take out dog to go potty, bring them back in, put them back in there crate. Set the food and water in there crate. Let 5 or 10 minutes go by, and then take out there food and water. You may wait a half hour then take them out to go potty. If they do not go potty, bring them back into the crate, and wait 15 min. and try again. Some dogs will need to go out only 15min after they eat and drink. This is where you need to watch the clock and pay attention to your dog. After you dog goes potty, they may be able to hold it for another hour, it depends how active they are. So this is why you need about 2 hours for your dog before you leave to go to work.

Do not leave food and water in there crate when you are gone. If they eat and drink, when you don’t know it, then you don’t know when they have to go out. This is when accidents happen.

When you come home you fallow the same routine from the morning. Then through out the evening, depending on how active you dog is, depends on when they have to go out.

A general rule of thumb: no food or water 4 hours before bed time.

Sorry I can’t make it simpler, dogs take work, and you have to pay attention to them and teach them in order to achieve the results you would like to have.

Things to expect

You can expect to have accidents the first week or two while you are figuring out the potty training schedule.

Crying in the crate is normal. You need to ignore the crying. If you do not they will keep crying until you come and get them. So location of the crate is important so you can get some sleep at night instead of listening to crying or barking all night.

If you are fallowing everything to the tee and are still having problems, it could be a couple different reasons.

Drinking too much water is most popular. Cut the water intake back when necessary.

You could be having a behavior problem. This will be fixed with the proper training from a behavior specialist.

Then always check back through the steps to see if you missed anything.
